Albany is the capital of New York State. It is part of the Capital District metropolitan area, including the cities of Schenectady, Troy, many suburban communities, and to the north, Saratoga Springs. The Capital District is the center of State Government, home to important educational and health care institutions, and boasts many first-class cultural, sports and entertainment opportunities. B'nai B'rith Parkview Apartments borders historic Washington Park, overlooks the futuristic Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza, the State Capitol, the New York State Museum, the Empire Center at the Egg, and the Pepsi Arena. The summer sees world-class racing at the Saratoga Race Course, and is home to the Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York City Ballet, and international performers at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Albany Medical Center Hospital, social service agencies, shopping, and restaurants are all within a short distance from B'nai B'rith Parkview. Jewish service agencies, organizations, and synagogues contribute to a vibrant Jewish community. The area is also rich in churches and organizations serving the Christian community.
